Went out Saturday with a buddy of mine and he hooked up with this....

She went 10.2 on the little hand held digital scale. We both were a little baffled that this fish didnt weigh more as it sure looked every bit of 12. She was spawned out.

The "majority" of the fish down here in this lake have moved off the beds, and with this fish it was obvious belly was flat/empty.

Fish spawn earlier in the south due to warmer climate.

Nice fish. Definitely a post spawn fish.

Every lake here close to Winnsboro has fish on beds. Fork, Winnsboro, Cypress, Sandlin, etc. With his location being Houston, I'm sure they have been on beds a couple weeks now.

They didn't get the snow and ice that we've had up here up until a month ago. I've still got family in Houston, the weather this spring has been much warmer there.

Water temp was 73 if that gives you any indication of the weather down here. It has warmed up quickley over the last few weeks.
