I would not be too hard on the people on the dock. There is plenty of shoreline west of the ramp. It is a public place. I know there is a sign, but most pay for a license just like you.. REALLY??? The docks are there for the loading and unloading of boats!!! We PAY to use them when we pay our launching fees!!! I almost got into a fist fight with some moron on Lewisville over this!!! I paid $10 to launch and he told me I was lucky I didn't snag his "stuff" when I pulled up to the dock! STUPID M@*#&@ERs!!!!

That's when you turn the bow toward the lake, trim your motor up til the prop is barely in the water, lay into the throttle & prop wash him off the courtesy dock. "ooops, I thought I trimmed it down"....

Yes they do pay for a lisence, but like someone else said, i payed a fee to put my boat in that they didnt pay. Courtesy docks are for people with boats. I dont care if you fish off of it just be ready to reel in that line and move when im trying to lauch or trailer my boat.

You can fix Stupid....with a 9mm Ya these people piss me off too... Even if there is noone else in line to put the boat up or back it in, I still go as fast as I can to load or unload.. when unloading I put the boat on, hook it up, pull forward a little bit, get out and pull the hull plugs real fast to help drain and then pull forward to finish everything else.. it is common sense.

Those are the same people that stand right in the middle of the aisle at walmart holding a shopping cart and talking on a cellphone and you cant get by them unless you say excuse me load enough where they will hear you over the phone conversation, same ones that are talking going down the road doing 45 in a 70 zone.. You forgot to mention the people in the middle of the aisle also weigh 350 pounds!

Went to Lake Worth yesterday, people backing down to ramp then getting out to unstrap,or load boat, taking 30 minutes to get out of the way.Same as when they load there boat, pull up just out of the water and prepare there boat for the journey home(another 30 min.of blocking the ramp),instead of pulling up out of the way.
Rant Over So the real question I have is... did you catch em yesterday?

Brandy Branch Sunday. My boat is not a drive on the trailer, crank up the winch, and leave rig. I have to use a rope and pull the boat up on the trailer and sometimes it takes longer than I wish so I try to be courteous and let others go before me. Well there was a great big ski boat ahead of me so I waited. And waited. And waited. The usual complaint. Get the people, skis, life jackets, passengers, and the dog in the boat. Then the boat wouldn't start. As one of the passengers was walking past my truck I called her over and said that boat ramp etiquette called for loading the boat before getting on the ramp. A few minutes later the boat was pulled out of the water. There was a bass boat in line behind me who also had been waiting for the weekenders to get out of the way. Of course bass fishermen know how to load the boat and get out of the way. I waved him around me. Took him 6 tries of pull up and back the boat back in the water to get it straight on the trailer. So I am not thinking too much about his skill in boat loading. Now is was my turn and I quickly figure out what the problem was. Unless you backed down right in the middle of the ramp your trailer ended up tilted at an angle because there is a big hole where the big boats gunned the engine to drive up on the trailer. That makes a one lane out of a two lane ramp. I had to back my boat back down in the water to get it on the trailer straight. It was still a pretty day for fishing.

Yellowcat,
I think that I can do you one better. I drive from Dallas to Rockwall every day. One day on the way home I could not believe what I was seeing although I was not totally surprised. There was a car parked on the south side ramp at Dalrock and the folks had their trunk open and were using the car for rod holders. They had lawn chairs set up right at the edge of the water. I was tempted to call on them but knowing who is responsible for that area I thought it would be a waste of time.

I would think that most of them would figure out that here are not any fish in the area with all the motors running. Heck maybe the thinking part is the problem.

I watched a guy launching from the Oak Point boat ramp on Saturday. He wasn't launching a boat, but at least a 35 foot yacht. Every time, he takes 30 minutes to get that thing in the water. It's funny to listen to him yell at his wife what a dumb B***H she is because she can't back the trailer.
Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

I really dont unerstand the problem with loading and unloading. The only problem we ever have is I have to cut through the suburban to hook the strap then out of everyones way. The people who cant back a trailer or load everything up on the ramp really makes me mad.
