I know you said that you cant shoot them, but what I do is kinda, but not really natural. I cut down or in your case bring in a mediaum size log or branch. Something you can carry. Lay it half way in the pond with the other end out. Wait a few days. Eventually the turtle will crawl up on the log. Wait for this to happen and blast away. Not sure if a high powered pellet gun will work, but if you hit them in the head with a pellet, they will probably kill over. good luck

yeah im kinda confused. got any pics?

what did he use for bait?

if the saying "insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" is true, then 99% of bass anglers are aparently insane.

use 3" pvc pipe and 4 90s and make a square, seal all joints with pvc glue so that it is full of air and will float. Use galvanized wire, chicken wire or something of that nature to build a cage below the pvc box. The edges should go straight down from the outside of the pvc, that keeps them from climbing out. Then you build a small teeter-todder on the side, a 2x6 on a pivot just like a seesaw and lightly weight the outside edge so that the outside of the board is always in the pond. Then the turtles climb up the board until their weight bring the seesaw down and they plop off in the pvc cage. Thats all there is to it. best of luck.

u can probably use 2X2s for the sides where u put the nails in, but we always used 2X4s (mostly because they were available to us) and we would turn the board so the 4in side is vertical under stand?

I will come catch any and all turtles. I keep them as pets. I have a small pond on my property. Methonds I use are traps, Getting in the pond and catching with my hands (My favorite). My favorite turtles are Snapping turtles. I'm near Dallas but willing to travel a decent distance for a chance to cacth snappers or other turtles. I'm off Fridays and Saturdays.
