We have all had bad days out fishin', but I will never complain ever again after witnessing this. Good news is, everyone was ok, Bill had insurance, and a good humor about the whole ordeal. He told me when he called his insurance company, and told them what had happened, they asked if he needed roadside assistance. He said he told them "Hell no!, I need lakeside assistance !" But all jokin' aside, I have always feared this very thing happening to me and I'm shure alot of yall have too, we should all be more carefull, and not let our eagerness to get on the water keep us from being safe. Have a Goodun' !

When I was a kid, there was a flood in a nearby town and a lot of cars got submerged. For a long time, folks were wary of buying used cars because some people tried to salvage the submerged cars and sell them. We called em "flooders".

So, I wonder if is possible today to salvage a truck like this or is it simply just good for Parts?

Imagine all the instruments, heater blower motor, etc were saturated.

I suppose if you pulled the oil pan and transmission pan quick? I dunno.

I think as long as they dont try to start it without flushing the crank case and the fuel system and replace the trany fluid I think it would be fine. That would be a bad day at the lake.

Here is one I saw in Chelan, WA. The guy was drunk and backed his car down fast and too far. The bow of the boat went through the back window and water started rushing in. the suction from the water then took the whole car under. It was awesome!

'Bout 10 years ago I was rushing in a company

vehicle to get ahead of cold front to a bank spot

on L Conroe to catch sum white bass that I knew

just had to be there. I had access to private

property and was hurrying to get to "the spot".

In my haste I didn't pay any attention to the

conditions of the dirt road I was on and realized

too late it was mudded up pretty bad. This par-

tcular road was about 15' from the lake and

slanted toward the lake. I realized the van was

slipping toward the lake so I stopped to assess

the stuation. Decided to try to back out but

everything I did made that old minivan slip

closer to the edge! Well at this point I had 2

options, 1) I could stop and either go find a

tractor or a tow vehicle to get my azz outa that

situation, or 2)I could fish before the front

rolled in. You guessed it, I choose #2!

I eventually stopped when the wind started howlin'

and decided to address my fate. Couldn't find a

local tractor, and wound up paying 350.00 to a tow

truck to help me out. On the plus side I caught 15

nice whites before I had to go. Negative was how

much 'dem fish cost me! eeks Momma was not happy!
