Let's see if txskamp can find those big boys again.. He is one friendly fella and just about the only one with really good report with photos. Kinda like Hickory version of carey at RC... smile smile

i might go in the morning, but i haven't had or seen anyone catching any hybrids in a few days. i caught 2 and missed 3 in 3 weeks of fishing, and then in 5 days with a couple buddies landed 65 or so, but i went 2 times a day for those 5 days. i really never slept last week.

yeah i didn't go this morning tried some bass fishing instead. i think im fishing a little further down the creek from the rr trestle than a few of you. i have asked everyone i have seen at the area i fish if they are from the forum, but no takers, right now im really only fishing 3 or 4 pools when i go, i have been spoiled. if no hybrids then i go home. it's time to go to the lake to find these big boys.

I spent a couple of hours on Hickory this morning and only manged 2 dinks. Gave it up and went to another creek where I worked my butt off but managed a limit.

Fished the creek again today. Plenty of sandies. The Hybrids were thick and doing the spawn thing...or the false spawnthing. Broke three off with my fly rod and landed one. Hybrids were thick all up and down the creek around the tressle...truly was amazing to see them in such shallow water...tough to get them to bite though was a different story.

Scamp..what is your secret??? Felt like we should have had a lot more hook ups cause they were thick. i would be standing there watching them swim by me.....they were all around but wouldn't bite....help a brother out...

Mr. Worm Wiggler......get upset...just playn. Seriously though...no reason to fish here..RC is the bomb....

Hey Just FYI..

If you go to hickory creek road to fish the creek, DO NOT TRESSPASS and do not block the gates to that pasture.

Today I was down the creek about 1/2 a mile or so and the game wardens came walking up above the spot I was fishing. They were not interested in whether I had any fish or a license, but did ask if I saw anyone else or if I had parked in front of the gate or went across that field to get there.

I met TxSkamp and he was doing well, I moved upstream from the tressle and caught a few sandies and hooked into a hybrid and broke off. I ran into the game warden and got a truck ride back to my truck cause I parked in front of the gate. They said it next time I will go to jail, also you will go to jail if they catch you on the tracks. Just an FYI

yeah the wardens have been out on the creek in several places, and i say good. i have seen some no good mf'ers trashing up the creek, poaching, and even running a seine in a part of the creek. poachers beware, and check your limits, and hybrids. well i went this morning met a couple of TFFers, dad and i had a good morning, caught 100 sandies or so, and 6 hybrids. nothing bigger than 5 but still fun, we lost 4 hybrids too. great easter morning.

I went down to the "old alton bridge" today and nothing doing. I talked a older gent and he told me about an area near country club rd. I drove around a bit but could find area to fish...is this where y'all are fishing?
