Finally got to lake test my boat,with the motor I rebuilt for it. I did everything but the machine work. Took it out,launched it. Fired itup. It ran like a bat outta hell! With the rebuild,I have gained nearly 4mph. Plus,it gets on plane better now.
I have built many engines,but never a 2 stroke marine. So I am pretty pleased with the results.

tell me u didnt run it WOT first time out Nope. FOllowing proper break in procedures pre my OMC manual. Varying rpms. 25:1 oil to gas. All the fun stuff. Just running it through its paces. It ran that much better at less than WOT! Thats why I am so ecstatic!

It's amazing what good compression does...huh ?
Now, go back and re-torque the head bolts.

Now, go back and re-torque the head bolts. According to OMC,I should retorque after 10 hours. I figure I'll check anyways.

It's a good feeling of accomplishment to rebuild an engine properly, isnt it? Absolutely. I was uneasy at first. But now,I have a feeling of accomplishment. Does feel good.

Who did your machine work? How long did you have it down to re-build it?

Who did your machine work? How long did you have it down to re-build it? Texas Machine Works in Grand Prairie. Dewayne did an awesome job. As for hours in it,12 total. But I spanned it out over a while. I also rebuilt the entire interior of the boat.
