What would be considered "average hours" on say a 115 hp Yamaha motor??? Would 300 running hours on a 2005 motor be high, med, or low hours (assuming they are actual and there is an hour meter on the motor).

Well, the 'average' fisherman might get on the water once a week on average (i.e. not at all in wintertime & a couple times a week in summer). The typical day might only involve 2 hours of engine time, so 2 hours/week x 52 weeks = 104 hours on average.
300 hours over the course of 4-5 years seems about medium in my opinion

It depends if the motor has been run offshore. If it has, it is not uncommon to never shut the motor down the entire day offshore.
1,500 hours on a recreational motor is very common. Plenty of offshore guides will log over 3,000 hours before repowering.
