I'm trying to decide on which rod to get. Either Falcon Cara or Powell. Any opinions on which blank is more sensitive for worm fishing by those who have used both rods?

Bwaaahaahaa loco
Of the two I have only used the Falcon T7 and it is quite sensitive. Maybe a Powell guy can report.

I have 3 Powell. And compared to my Falcon Low-Rider (similar price as Powell), it blows the low-rider away. I have heard from someone who tried both a Powell and Cara, they preferred the Powell.

I just bought a falcon cara reaction T7. I really like the lighter weight and the sensitivity. I have it paired up with a skeet revo. I plan on purchasing a second for my other skeet for my backup.

I guess im a cheap arse. Ive been using Berkley lightning rods for the past 5 years. Havent had one break or lose a rod tip. I hear about people spending hundreds of dollars on rods and reels and I seen a post the other day that a boy caught a 6 pounder on a 10 dollar G.I.Joe fishing pole. Just sayin.

I think you need a hitch with more drop to level out your trailer tongue.

American Rodsmith? The only All Star with a split grip that I know of is the ASR series and they run about $100. If they make another split grip I would certainly like to know about it, I really like All Star rods.

As for the topic at hand, I have a Powell that is super sensitive, more so than my Low Rider but the Cara is a step up from the Low Rider.

Just a quick note on All Star rods.
Dick's sells a rod , All Star Select, made overseas.
My first one broke on the first hookset, about 9 " from the end.
Went back to Dick's, Firewheel, and the manager was good for the replacement.
There's a belief that these rods are made here, maybe not.
I do not recommend the Select.
Just sayin'

None of the All Stars are made in the USA anymore but there are still a bunch on store shelves that are, you just have to know what to look for. USA All Stars will say IM10 on them and will say Houston Texas, they will also have Fuji reel seats, this applies to the Team All Stars and All Star Platinums at least. The butt caps are different also. To the best of my knowledge the Team All Stars, Platinums and Big Boys are the only USA made All Stars still available.

Some say the quality dropped considerably, others say the blanks are still exactly the same but the assembly moved to China. I do know that with a side by side comparison you can tell a difference. All my All Stars are made in the USA.
