Has anyone been catching them lately? Are they moving up shallow or still out in deeper water? I will be in a boat with my 8 year old son and he has never caught crappie really biting, he would rather bass fish. We usually crappie fish on the boat slips at eagle mountain, and you have to work pretty hard to catch one. He would rather chunk and wined a lure. If their shallow we can use slip corks, that way he will stay busy.

I fished proctor once last year and stayed busy reeling them in...started off catching white bass just about anywhere on the lake, and then went after the crappie. From the boat ramp directly to the left is the damn and about half way between the ramp and the damn about 40yds out from the shore line you can find a brush pile on your depth finder. We sat on top of that brush pile jigging and caught quite a few. Like I said I have only fished it once so I don't know what depth they are at right now or what kind of pattern proctor has but if all else fails give that brush pile a shot and I'd bet you pull out atleast a couple.

Thanks for the info, I know a few other brush piles that are on the lake, that should produce if they have not moved up. From reading post about granbuy, I am hoping they are moving up shallow on proctor.
