Hello,
We are bass fishing out of a Triton VT 17 ft aluminum bass boat. I have decided to get a drift sock. The cabellas looks good but I am unsure what size to get. Cabellas list them by size of boat but 17ft falls in many options. One guy in a 17ft bass tracker liked his sock that measured 48" Any suggestions please?

Check out the XL Academy sock. For like $12 or $15 it is a good deal. I believe it is a 36" sock and will work great for an alum boat

Get a medium sized sock (15'-18'). Your boat is relatively light and a sock thats too large may slow you down too much. Just my opinion though, good luck!

I have a 22' CC and have 2 drift socks. The medium size from academy and a large one from Cabelas. The Academy one works fine in wind up to 10-12 mph.

I got the 30 inch one from Cabelas. It is just right for my 1648 aluminum Jonboat. Wouldn't want a smaller one though. I bet that the Cabela's 38 incher or the next step bigger would work well for your boat. Cabela's drift socks

A lighter boat drifts faster, you need a larger sock for most alum boats.

50" should be okay for your boat. When it comes to drift socks bigger is better. I made my own out of a 7ft tarp and it works real well but still drifts too fast in a stiff wind. I have a 22ft CC.
