If the wind would stop I would get out and go. I do not mind a little wind but 30-40mph is a little to much for me.

The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Duane and I took his new wife trolling last Saturday expecting (hoping) to put her on the largest fish of her life. Windy-day, Hadley (Tennessee colony) recorded 20-24 mph average with gusts to 31mph. Running down wind we even saw waves pass under us running at least 25%-50% faster than our 4.5 to 5.5 mph tolling speed. Seems we burned fuel downwind using the engine as a brake!

That is borderline too windy for my rig, not something I would attempt again without an experienced hand, like Duane. But to see his new wife take her lifetime biggest, I'd do it at almost any reasonable cost.

In the mid morning to mid afternoon we took more water weight over the gunnel than we did fish flesh. We did a strategic highest wind retreat for a while, netted 17, 2-2.7 lb Tilapia then trolled again. Saw marks, but few hungry.

Early to mid day Shirley got to reel in two, a 25" and a 33", the larger weighed 12lb 7oz. That was her lifetime largest weight fish, still small but we will have to work on that for her. Bright sunny day we took them downrigged deep well below the thermocline.

This is a catch and no return record claim. I'm applying for a 66" long likely record Fairfield record. It came up sans a hook on the Carolina end and a fisherman on the other. I knew guys who have caught equal size rods and reels but few can claim they beat my record claim of still having viable bait on the line near the 1.5 oz weight?

This careless fisherman cost me a combined hour of fishing time from the twists it put my trolling lines. How many times do we have to say put the rod in a holder or tie the rod down!

After casting for 1.5 hours, trolled up 7 mid 20's inch length, lost the two best to one hook pop out and a dumb move. Did you know a 27" butt hole hooked carp that size can seem like a near record tester. Try beating a trolled up 27" butt hole fouled carp!

Went all winter without see a Loon on that lake, saw one briefly in the mouth of Trinity Cove, before he dove. Lake is up about 8 degrees higher. 74 F at the intake, 84F or higher at the outfall. West and east station were making smoke at days end.
