If it just fell in front of you, it probably would have just thumped ya on the head if that would have hit ya. Not much damage other than a small knob on your head since it wasnt going straight at you. I find lots of them all the time down there and they're usually less then an inch or two in the mud. That's not enough velocity to go through your skull. Saw it on Mythbusters. haha. Aimed at ya is another story.

How do I get to the creek from Great Southwest PWKY just off HWY 20. Honestly there might be closer places for you to fish and get the same results. It's not gauranteed fish. I used to work off of Great Southwest and Pioneer and live in rowlett next to the creek. Going 80 mph you'll get here in about 45 to 50 minutes. Not worth the gas money in my opinion. But if you insist, take 20 east til it turns/splits into 635 north. Take 635 north and pass i30. Exit centerville. Take a right on centerville and go down a while til you hit miller rd. Take a right on miller and you'll be at the start of the creek. To get to firewheel, pass miller instead of turning on it and go down centerville until it dead ends. take a right and cross the bridge and you'll see all the cars in the field on your right. Its a loooooooonnnngggg drive. Good Luck.

Oh well I know they aren't gonna stop. I guess you can't blame them they like to shoot guns like we love to fish, but it still sucks because I take my sister out there

YES, but we don't want to make the problem worst than they have to be.

If you want to fish south of the gun range and not have to pass the range itself, you could always be on the safe side and just park at firewheel and walk north to where you wanna get. Its less than a mile maybe even half. And also, I dont think the owners or workers really care that you're out there fishing but more concerned that you dont get hurt by a stray bullet. If you did get hit, im sure you would be at fault for being out there when you knew the possbilitlies. Your life isnt worth some fish. Anyways, just do like me. Duck when you're next to the range and run like hell through the woods like a lepracaun trying to hide its gold til you get somewhere safe. lol

Bullets have been connecting with the east bank of RC forever south of the gun club.
The GC is closed before 10:00 a. m. If you leave the the creek south of the gun club before 10:00 there will be no projectiles flying from the GC.
The west bank does not acquire bullets in the same manner.
Folks fishing on the west bank laugh. Those fishing on the east bank don't.
You can fall or step into deep water anytime.
When the sandies are running, the large number of parked cars and overcrowded fishing spots is ample evidence that the fishing is good enough to disregard all of this and just have a good time.
