Like most of you i was not sure when the water would ever get warm enough for the crappie to come up shallow. They are running a little later than normal but they are now moving in fast. Ray Roberts lake level is close to normal and the water temps range from 57 on the main lake to 67 at the northern end of the lake. The water color is good and stained which is good for the crappie to move up shallow.

I have been very busy running the seminar trips that i advertized and they seemed to be a big hit with the customers that went. A big thanks to all that booked the seminar trips, Good luck using what you learned this spring.

The last 2 days were the first days that i really tried to go out and catch some numbers of crappie. Sunday Mike and his young son Jake had a evening trip with me and they ended up with 26 keepers and a few more throw backs. Jake did a great job catching the crappie up shallow. This afternoon CV and i went out and caught 43 keepers and should have caught more, We let many get away from us.

Nearly all the fish have been coming out of 1 to 2 ft of water and even caught a few in as little as 6 inches of water. SlabmeSilly jigs have been one of the top producers. The Stuckman color has been #1.

Good luck everyone this spring and i hope to see ya on the lake.

Nice job Cliff and CV. I have to tell you that once I got through playing with my new trolling motor and started fishing, the things you taught me on my seminar trip started coming back to me. Thanks!

Looks like its on finally.

CV, looks like your getting a little beefy like me even though you don't fry your fish.
We may have to add a "Big" in front of your name too.
cheers
It's just good livin'.
