Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This GATOR, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.
lol i couldnt resist..

Cool pict. Believe it or not as a naive kid I have hooked them on purpose while in a pirogue (cajun flat botton canoe) while bass fishing just to see how far I could get the gator to pull me down the bayou before he broke off. Never had one turn around at me thank God. Was a great fight. Wouldn't dare do it now.

We put in at Bay Area Park which is off of Bay Area Blvd. down here in the Clear Lake area. When you put in, if you go to the left (not under the bridge) you'll get to a place where you have to go around to the right. Go to the right and then go to the right again and theres a bunch of channels back there. The gator was back there along with A LOT of smaller gators. It's probably a 30 minute paddle at a decent pace to get there. We turned around and went back under the bridge and saw a few more. There were 3-4 around 6ft, 2 that were about 4ft, and a ton that were smaller.

Oh, and we kept our distance and none seemed aggressive. Everybody says they're not to worry about as long as you don't threaten them or get between them and a nest. Most of the time they will swim away but if they hold their ground you better leave. They didn't seem aggressive on this paddle but I also gave them a wide berth.
