I'm taking my neighbor to Grapevine this afternoon, anybody doing any good out there?
We found them schooling about 2 weeks ago and did pretty good for about 2 hours.

I havent been out for a month on Grapevine, but it sounds like from recent reports you should try the various humps around the Rock Crusher bouys, east of the island, and in front of dyer slough and east of there in front of the Murrell "red cliffs". I would focus on 17 to 25ft foot of water, slab or work a humdinger like a slab, looking for bait and concentrated fish. I am taking the boys out Sat morning, so let us know how you do.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. I'm pretty new to sandbass fishing, so I kind of learning as I go. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, there's a buoy in the middle, with a flag on top of it. There are also 3 HUGE houses on the bank right near it. WATCH OUT for a long cable that runs through that area. You'll think you have a huge one, but you're really hung-up! There are usually a lot of birds working the area also, so that makes it even Sweeter!

Josh, get the waterproof AID Lake Map for Grapevine in the WalMart fishing area. It's marked on the map.

Okay well it is either east of Murrell or West of Twin Coves but it cannot be both. These locations contradict themsleves. "Rock Crusher bouys, east of the island, and in front of dyer slough and east of there in front of the Murrell "red cliffs". Anyone one have a GPS location? if not I will get one here in a bit.

Hey fellas, I went out yesterday with my buddy. The wind was blowing like crazy. We only managed to catch about 15 sandies. I located the Rock Crusher bouy (I only saw one). Are the humps there that ya'll are refering to large? There weren't any birds working that area, and I couldn't find any humps on my electronics. I saw some really small humps, but didn't mark any fish. Are these small humps the right area?

Check your email on rock crusher humps - sent you some detail on how to line up on the "stairs" house and find three other humps from there.

The rock crusher humps are very obvious when you go over them. Some of them come up from 22' to 14-15'. You will know them when you find them. PS. Thank God for the GPS.

Thanks Jeff and Bird Dog I have similar locations on my GPS so I was unaware I was fishing the Rock Crusher area and the above mentioned areas. I turned in 9 different areas to Texas Lakes and Bays a few weeks ago maybe they will list them on next years annual book. I rarely have a bad day on Grapevine but it usually has to be during the week since it gets pretty thick on the weekends. On the lighter side I was adjusting my depth finder a few minutes ago and I cracked the plastic bracket but it did not crack the transducer area, you guys think it will be okay?

On the transducer, it's possible it will be okay. It's going to depend on if any air/water can get in behind the transducer. There's only one way to find out. Good luck with it.
