Heres a pretty informative video on how to pre-scout a lake using programs like google earth and NASA World wind. A little lengthy but very neat.

Is there any application that updates periodically? I would like to see what El Salto looks like now with the water low. Google Earth shows it full now.

Not really, there are some who show older and some who show newer data.

The ones I know about are:

Google Earth
Bing
Acme Mapper
Virtual Earth

You might check Acme, I know last year the images I was looking at were from when the lake was 20ft low. Don't know if it's still that way or not, hadn't checked in awhile.

Yea I looked at some houses on the NASA sight and dated the pics back to about a year ago. But I think it's cool how you can view the whole lake from above and see water color, brush, points and other fish holding areas!
