George was a good guy, then had to move his store then finally go out of business but told me he wanted to open another one in Crandall in the future. But that was a few years ago and all his tackle he sold in a garge sale after the second building he was in closed down. I remember that fish in there as well, always had to see it when i went in there mark

Beautiful fish, Leroy! I remember admiring it years ago at Smitty's, thanks for posting the pics.
Any idea what Jimmy Smith is doing these days? He and his folks were some really nice people.

Still kicking my self I didn't get my wife's 19" mounted. Even didn't mount the several we got in the couple years around when she caught that 19" fish and we did catch about 3 or 4 over 18", but that was about 6-8 years back and have not seen any get to 18" since.
Good looking mount for sure.

Jimmy Smith has been guiding since they closed the store. He does several Peacock Bass trips to Brazil each year but spends most of his time on Tawakoni guiding for sand bass. You'll never meet a man more genuine man than Jimmy Smith.
When in doubt, do without.
