Has anyone had any experience with the 24hour and longer trips at Dolphin Docks. Looking to try a 40 plus trip this summer. Any suggestions would be great.

I'd stick with the Scat Cat or Big E. Check this out before you book anything with them. Dolphin Docks bad news reviews

Deepseaheadquarters runs a 24 hr every friday night and run by some of the best captains on the Gulf Coast. Kieth Schoolcraft, Peter Gainey, and the list goes on. Dolphin docks is slow slow slow look at the fishing reports and pictures. I get first hand info from peter about once a week.

I've had more negative than positive experiences with DD ... have to second snagged's advice to go with the Scat Cat or Big E.

Thanks for the replies, I was trying to locate a boat that would provide the gear and meals. I would be going by myself.

Thanks for the replies, I was trying to locate a boat that would provide the gear and meals. I would be going by myself. JB, we think what were posting is fairly close if not completely accurate. The two Texas long range boats that offer meals are DD, and from time to time, U.E., who run the "Big E". We are not aware of any other long range trip that regularly offer meals as a part of their total cost, and with the Big E it has been meals at an additional cost. On some trips, the Scat Cat has done some cooking by the deckhands and folks were able to partake, but official "meals" are not a part of the price. All long range trips include gear with the trip, not great gear, but it is included in the price. We have one trip in 2010 where everyone gets 8 meals/drinks among other things as a part of the total price. The price for this charter is fairly high compared to an open charter on the same boat, but what we offer and are planning is worth the cost. Other than our trip, DD and U.E. is where you need to focus for what you want. Our suggestion to you would be for you to call U.E. and DD and compare the two. As mentioned above, DD is slow, not comfortable, smelly, and so on, but they'll get you out and fishing for just about less than anyone else. The Big E sometimes offers meals for an additional cost and is a better, cleaner, faster, more luxurious boat, no doubt. That said, of the two choices, we'd pick DD based on our experiences with both docks. Good luck on whatever charter you decide on and we hope you have a great trip.

I have fished numerous times on 24 hour and longer trips with Dolphin Docks. Two 60 hour tuna trips. Can't compare because I have not been on a long distance trip with UE or Fisherman's Headquarters, but my experience on the DD vessels has been good. The meals have been well-prepared, hands helpful, and the captains have put us on fish every time. If you want Perrier and a mint on your pillow, look elsewhere...this is a fishing operation. IMO the trips they offer are an excellent value for the prices charged. Weather is the biggest deciding factor in determining whether you'll enjoy an offshore party vessel trip. If the seas are too rough to get to the captain's preferred destinations, it's not fun. FM

FM No Designer water or Minted pillows to be had unless you bring your own... just newer and faster boats. But we do sometimes have a Frozen Margarita machine if Joe fishes the TFF Tuna trip with us. The crew of the Scat Cat cooks some mighty good chow!

DD is good, cheapest because of the boats. Put me on fish. If spending $200 more is not a huge deal choose another boat.
