Last time I was out there (couple years ago) the local fishermen knew about what time the whites would start biting. (late evening was good then) They would all line up like the picture, and start casting towards the other bank. I just eased up along side them and start casting too. The fish would run the gauntlet, and it would be "fish-on" till about dark. Watch out for the holes in the rock on bottom though. I almost took a dip. Lots of fun though.

Shut up and fish!

I took a ride down there yesterday just to have a look see. Not as crowded as the pic above, but were a good many people out. Limits were being caught , if you could get to the channel across the river. The guys in tne waders were tearing them up. Wading out up above the waist. they could could get to the channel, which they say was about 9-10 feet deep. Boat ramp was useable for the smaller flat bottom boats. Very few females being caught, but saw some male fish measuring up to 15".Water is pretty clear considering the recent rains.

Hey, I'm almost in that picture-I was one of a couple of guys fly fishing and was just up river about 100 yards!

Anyone have a report on the water clarity after the rain? It doesn't look like it came up very much, but im not sure on the water color.

Rain didn't amount to much in Mills county. Some places got a 1/2 inch but a lot got 2/10's. It ran off for everything is full here but shouldn't do much downstream. Weekend looks nice weather wise.

I remember you guys. I was fishing on the opposite bank just a little way past the guy with two kids and the canoe.

My son and I went out Sunday afternoon. Not as many fisherman as spring break Friday, thank goodness. Sunny day, still a little cool and windy until late. We didn't catch quite as many, but there were more females this time.
