Can someone give me and idea on why our structure scan isn't clear? It seems to work better at about 4 mph but when we slow down we get a lot of clutter on the screen. These shots are from out HDS 10...we are having the same problem with the HDS 8 we have up front. Any help will be appreciated!

Wheres your transducer located? take pic of your lss-1 transducer and post it.

on your 2d sonar pic you are getting interferance from another unit.

Might try 83hz on sonar and 455 on frequency.

okay finally got pics of my install but don't laugh they were taken with my camera phone. They were installed at Rockwall Marine (love those guys). The LSS is in the small compartment in front of the drivers console. As you can see I have a skeeter. Please help I want clearer pics. The cable runs up through the back of the jackplate.

Is your 8 running off the same structure scan or a different one?

I would keep running the down view in auto and take few more pics. also keep running 800khz in less then 120ft, if more then 120ft run it 455khz.

also i think in structure scan menu/option theres a setting for noise reduction or suface clutter. try putting them on low.

You are definitely getting noise/interference on those images....the solid bar running horizontally around 1.5ft and again at 2.5ft is usually a good indicator.

Were there any other boats around when you took those shots?

There were no other boats around...The HDS 7 is up on the bow and they HDS 10 is at the console and they are etherneted together via the structure scan. I will try the surface clutter setting and playing around with the frequencies...thanks for the input....just wanna use it to it's full potential

Turn surface clarity on low, noise reduction on, and also I noticed your cable on the transducer pointing away from the boat so you need to make sure you turn on flip left/right or you will be seeing something on the right side of your screen and actually it will be on the left.
Hope this helps.
