Gotta Force 40 that won't turn over (or even click). New batteries, etc...I just replaced the impeller and I put it back on without having it in drive. When I took it to the lake it started, but when I forced it into reverse I realized what I had done. Took it apart and back togerther correctly, but now it acts like their is no battery voltage to starter...Any help would be appreciated.

Not familiar with that engine...but I guess I'd check voltage to the starter solenoid first. Then maybe the plug where the wiring goes into the engine. ( assuming you have checked battery connections and fuses/breakers)

Then the neutral switch on the control box. In fact...since you forced it....that's probably it.

thanks, it was actually one wire that came from the ignition that had corroded and worked its way loose. Now the problem is while I was splicing that connection 3 more came loose and now I need a wiring diagram...I appreciate the responses though.

Neutral safety switch will not let the motor turn over and the safety kill switch wo`nt let the motor start.

back to the top with this one...I thought I had it fixed. I dropped the lower with the shift in neutral then before I put the lower back I shifted to forward all the way. The lever would go in forward and reverse with normal effort, so I thought I fixed part of the problem. When I got the wires spliced it would start and trim, etc. So I get it to the lake and start it and go to back off the trailer and when I shifted into reverse it just clicked like a gear was slipping. I shut it down and tried to move the forward/reverse lever and it was stuck. I got it to neutral and now it won't crank or even click?

Let spanky adjust the shift rod. I am assuming it's similar to an OMC set up.
