Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

Ummmmm, there were 8 years of Clinton between the Bushes, but I'm not getting into the debate of who caused our ills.

Being retired military, I have government health care. Good luck ya'll, welcome to my nightmare.

This whole debate is over a "man made" problem. We are all in it together and it's not ever going away. The issue is resources and what, how, who, why and where to use them to the best advantage of the majority of people (or U.S. citizens?). But ultimately these decisions being made now effect the individual somewhere down the road.

Here's the question at present as I see it:

There are resources available in information, technology and socially that can improve, enhance and lengthen life for most of us but access to much of it is limited by one factor or another, mostly money.

If I do well in life does that justify my access to these resources over and above someone less fortunate?

Is it in our societies best interest to devise a system that levels the access to healthcare at the risk of reducing the quality of services overall.

sounds like socialism to me, but I don't know nuthin...I was glad that when I was diagnosed with Cancer that I had insurance, another fella I knew didn't...I was gettin chemo when they had his funeral. Ain't no easy answers, but sure are lots of difficult questions.

Forgive me if this analogy isn't clear but..

Healthcare is like a Restaurant.

Exclusive dinner clubs where membership is limited to those that can afford the regular fees in addition to the cost of the special higher quality meals are like the cadillac of healthcare plans.

Then you have the largest category like Red Lobster thru Burger King and less where you pay for the food per item ordered and it's more affordable to most working people partly because your employer adds benefits into your paycheck like health insurance so you have money left over to buy food and other necessities. There is some waste in this model but you paid for what you didn't consume and threw into the trash.

Then there is the "all you can eat buffet" for a set amount of $$ and the "I'm gonna get my money's worth" mentality. In this model the restaurant has to correctly recalculate everything all the time to stay profitable and they can adjust the price of admission as conditions dictate. Generally buffets have a wide variety but at a lessor quality over quantity. This feedlot formula might work for growing livestock but it does not lead many people to a long healthy happy life unless you like being obese... If the profit incentive from the Restaurant to grow and stay in business is somehow removed what do you think happens?

And finally there is the soup kitchen where you spend very little or no $$ but wait in long lines with no guarantee that there will be anything left to eat when you get to the end.. but at least somebody else is paying for it!

The middle (where most of us survive) is always determined by the far left and right of any issue.

Hold up I didnt say i didnt vote I just didnt vote for either one of the two. I voted for the third person. I didnt care for either of the two so I voted for the third person. I have a right to complain or say what I want about the government. I believe if you dont vote you cant complain.
