Trying to figure how much of a drop needed, if any on my hitch to get boat trailer level with tow vehicle.

Can't remember what size trailer tires I have. It is a tandem axle MFI. My Triton boat came on it new in 2000. Still have the Goodyear Marathons on that came with it. Are they 15's ??

Bought a new Tahoe with 20's. Right now distance to the ground from bottom of ball is 21".

I'm at home and boat and trailer are at the lake place 85 miles away. Just trying to get an idea so I can buy a new stinger with the right drop before heading back to the lake this weekend.

Thanks for any help anybody can give.

21" is pretty high.........

My Ranger Trailer sitting level is 16 " to the bottom of the hitch. Thats going to be pretty close on any Bass Boat trailer.

Tongue weight will drop your Tahoe to 20 "... so you need a 4" drop hitch.......and when you get to the lake don`t forget.....

Trim it High and Let it Fly ! ! ! Chinewalker

I would rather it be a little high than low. I would opt for a 3 to 3 1/4 drop. Just My Opion. BassCat recomends 19" ball height. I have a 2008 Ford F-250 4X4 and use the 3 1/4" drop.
