I have recently moved from Missouri and now live in Argyle Texas. My son is here for a week and we have time to get on the water. We plan on using our fishing float tubes and could use some direction on where to go. I have lived in several states and fished many types of water. I have enjoyed fishing Bass Tanks in western OK, farm ponds in southeast Ks. and small mouth bass fishing in the Ozark Streams. Now we find a new start in the Great Fishing state of Texas. I thought we would start with Ray Roberts or Lake Lewisville. However, I dont know which would be better this time of year or where to put in our fishing float tubes. Please let me know you have other water suggestions or can tell us where to go on either of these two lakes. We are interested in fishing for Largemouth, sand bass or crappie. While reading all the post it looks like you all are willing to help out folks. So, thanks for helping out my son and I as we begin our fishing life here in the Lone Star State.
Looking for the TUG!!
Jeff

Welcome to the forum - I'm sure you'll get suggestions from members in your part of the state.

welcome fish I would think the water temp. would still be a liitle cold to be going out in a tube. IMO And watch out for the Texas alligators that are in the area lakes around the DFW area also. bolt

Yes, I am a insurance property adjuster, but my business has not caused me to move. Life has a way of doing that.

I have seen many people tubing in the back of Sand Branch on Ray Roberts, easy to find on a map. You might also get on FM922 heading east from I35, that will take you across the upper ends of Ray Roberts...there are 3 bridges where many people park nearby and bank fish, should be easy for tubing also. Way north like that the water will probably be pretty stained (or muddy), but the fish should be there in the next couple days (probably were already but may have moved back a bit, will be back soon). Good luck.
