Hey there - this is Rhonda. I had surgery for scoliosis when I was in the 7th grade (no comments about my age please!). The technology has greatly improved since then, but I've had no problems with my back. I was actually in a body cast for 9 months following the surgery, and I dare say they don't do that anymore! You're in our thoughts and prayers!! If you'd like to know more, pm me!

CrappieKing my daughter age 23 also has or had Scoliosis her spine was literally in the shape of the letter S and had surgery at Scottish Rite to straiten her spine when she was 13. Scottish Rite is one the best if not the finest Hospital for young people in the country and this is one of thier specialties so I know the good Lord has put you in very good hands at Scottish Rite.O by the way we were living in Lubbock then and she had surgery on a Monday and flow home to Lubbock the following Saturday so you well be up and fishing before you know it! My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery and your family.

Thanks for all the support!! I am actually looking forward for the surgery to come real soon so that I can get back on the water for those Crappie. Doctor said that it will be a 6 month recovery.
