I am almost at one week without my 50 Marlboro a day habit.
Feel GREAT! Looking forward to another day without that Gorilla
on my back. Now at 60 some odd days, Christmas day is 9 weeks...

New guy here checking in. Been on the forum for a while, but new to the tobacco section.
I quit dipping/smoking on 1/6/2010 and doing really good so far. Just have to take a bunch of deep breaths and walk away from tense situations if I can. I have a few issues with rage, but that was the first week, this week has been pretty good.
Good luck to all and believe in yourself, stay confident and you will succeed.
Whoops, forgot to add that I am now 41 and have dipped since I was 14 and I have smoked off and on since I was 16. All with my parents blessings, which my kids know I wont be giving if they decide to pick up the habit.

Welcome - you've got the right idea - the cravings only last a few minutes (<5 or so) and if you "Dismiss & distract" during the urges you can beat the withdrawal - the will is stronger than the addiction...... you just have to be convinced you want to quit.
Again, welcome to the sub-group - we'll help you as much as you want......

wanted to introduce myself, I have been dipping Copenhagen for about 15 years now and quit on 1/9/09! It's the second time I have quit, first time lasted about a year, and this time was/is a whole lot harder than the first time.

Welcome my friend. If I can do it...anybody can do it! 27 years and 5 months
with no cravings at all after the first few weeks.
I went from 2 - 3 packs a day, to not having a single one in all of this time.
