It's gonna be cold and windy tomorrow during the Elliott tournament. Everyone please be careful out there. Mrs.S and I will be wearing red guidewear and more than likely look like we're attached when we're on the bank------feel free to say HELLO.
 Good luck and safe fishin'!!!!

Lots of ramps and lots of hiding places on Fork. Be smart and stay off the main lake, trailer if you need to move to a nw cove. Wind chills in the teens most of tomorrow. Be Safe and Good Luck

The conditions there were REAL BAD.. I woke up this morning to about 2+inches of snow and 31' degrees. Not to mention the snow was going sideways, the wind had to be max'n out to 40mph. I saw one boat fish through our cove at 8:30am this morning - no bites - water temps in our area dropped 11'degrees by Saturday 6:00 pm. Didn't check it today prolly alot worse..
It looked brutal out there, I hope everyone is OK..

I felt bad about it ...but I bailed after driving around to check out the water and conditions...man it just looked miserable. My partner was disappointed as was I, really questioned the safety of the whole thing so I had to make a call....been questioning myself all day.
Hope every one who fished is ok...saw 20 boats out there in Mustang, Little Mustang, and White Oak as I drove around trying to figure things out ..... sure makes me glad to hear Billy say he saw one boat and didnt see a bite...thats where I was thinking of heading!
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I hear you Ken. Tough to leave the lake once your there. I was not planning on fishing anywhere this weekend and did not envy the guys out there today. They should have cancele this one like all the other tournaments were. To un safe today. On the Elliots entry form it just flat out says that the tournament will be held regardless of weather. On Fork, when they allow trailering, there are lot's of ramps out there to put in at out of the wind or where you can get out of the wind quick without hitting the main lake. Just one of those days where you have to make a commitment to a certain area or creek and stick with it or trailer to change spots. Still bet it was a long day for much of the field.

Good call Ken, all anglers need to take responsibility for themselves even if the TD makes a bad call. Fork is one of the few lakes where you can pull off a tournament in these conditions due to the number of sheltered ramps in the back of many coves. I have been on some fish and would have liked to fish it but I would have made the same decision as you. Hope to see you at one of our events soon. I cancelled our Ray Hubbard event for today at noon Saturday and just had a gut feeling about the wind and weather, did not think we would have 5" of snow at daylight though. The winds today here in Mesquite were brutal, no way I am going to throw my anglers into that nonsense on a lake as large and open as RH.
We have got to focus on the fun of fishing these events not just the man up testosterone foolishness that takes lives every spring here in North Texas.
