I think a lot of people call it Denton Creek, I've been meaning to drive by and see if all the cars are lined up on the side of road. It's crazy how many cars you see out there at one time.

The bad part is, I live right down the road from it. I could be there in 5 minutes. I'm just too lazy I guess.

LOL

well the creek is up a little and is no longer locked off the main lake so the fish should move up it now

Are you guys talking about Marshall Creek on the upper end of Grapevine Lake? If so can you take a boat up there right now? Is that where the sand bass go on their spawning run for that lake?

Marshall Creek & Denton Creek are two different creeks. You have to go to the offroad riding area & pay to get to Marshall Creek which is actually Marshall Branch. It is the small old bridge. Denton Creek is at the top Northwest corner of Grapevine Lake.

Denton Creek goes under HWY 377 in two different places and dumps into Grapevine Lake on the north west end. Never seen a Marshall Creek, but there is a Marshall Creek Park right there where Denton Creek dumps into it. Maybe the creek changes names???

I am not usre why but the park is called Marshall creek and the water is called Denton Creek. I have wondered about that for 25+ years!

I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

There is a Marshall Branch of Denton Creek that comes from the general areas of Keller and Trophy Club. I've got a real old map that shows it (doesn't show Trophy Club). Denton Creek is the one most of you are talking about. It comes down from Justin, under 407, then under I-35 (just north of the speedway), then under 377 twice. It looks like they join just to the west of Marshall Creek Park.

Under prime conditions both Marshall Branch and Denton Creek will have spawning sand bass. I don't think this year could be considered "prime" but they are calling for rain 6 out of the next 7 days. Things could change real fast. (I hope!)
