I just got the 2010 Navionics card and wanted to use it on my pc. I have a card reader...I assume there is some type of software that is needed...?? Is it free on-line or something that has to be purchased?
Thanks!

You need Navplanner and the card reader that comes with it. I think it will damage the card if you use it with another reader. Navplanner and reader run about $90-$100 ---- google it.

You do need the NavPlanner card reader. There is a new NavPlanner2 coming out tomorrow that includes the card reader and mapping. Considering what I paid for all my NavPlanner toys, this is not a bad deal at all. http://www.fugawi.com/web/products/navio...avPlanner2Email

Can one download the Explorer or is it a hard buy? I believe it is only available in a CD format. BPS has them in stock, but you have to pay $20 per HD lake map and that to me makes the new NavPlanner2 a better deal as it has all HotMaps Premium lakes from all regions and most are in HD. Kinda depends on how many and what lakes you fish for the best deal. I own both the NavPlanner and HotMaps Explorer. At $129, I am thinking about adding the NavPlanner2 to my collection just so I don't have to take my cards out of my boat all the time and remember to put them back.
