Reimer's is one of the most awesome places to catch spawning whites. If I still lived in the Austin area then I would be there all the time.
But it's a 98 mile trip one way, so I only go there a couple of times a year. I have to at least go a couple of times just because it's so beautiful out there.
If you walk around up on top of the river you can find some arrowheads too.

It's also a good place to take "non-fisher" people. aka kids, spouses, in-laws, etc. They can sit on the bank with their beverages, food, and enjoy the sun, and beautiful scenery while you go and catch a limit. Water is very clear. Kayaks, canoes are nice to use there too.
Shut up and fish!

I was out there this weekend the game warden was not to happy that some people had glass bottles. They also had undersized fish too. That ruinned their fishing trip.

That's understandble though, most places don't really like glass bottles. I just wanted to make sure it was ok to have a few cold ones in my ice chest along with my lunch.

Water is very clear. Kayaks, canoes are nice to use there too. That sounds perfect for me. My girlfriend is just now getting into fishing, but she's not very patient, if the fish aren't biting she loses interest, LOL. However, she loves photography and has a really nice camera. All else fails, I'll just let her wander around taking pictures of the scenery. She'll enjoy that.

I dont want glass bottles there either, get your buzz on, just plastic or cans.
It's more than the catfish would do.

I went this weekend and got some with live minnows. They were being reall hard with the lures. Only males are in there at this time I think it will take a couple of more weeks.
