Is it better than the old Mono.. Whats the difference? Cast ability? Strength?

Fluoro will carry light as well, so if you fish are actin skittish they might wonder why you lure has a spot light on it. I use braid to fluoro with a double uni

I absolutely cant stand flourocarbon, I have tryed three different brands and all it does is break on hookset. As far as memory, there is not another line that has more, I could pour a gallon of KVD line conditioner on it and it still ends up like a slinky. The only technique I have found where it excels is a rattle bait where a fish usually just loads the rod.

What knot are you tying? Flouro line will cut itself, the knot is half the battle with Flouro.

I have a rod i use to walk a small lake, it has had 14 lb flouro on it for 3 months and still lays straight without any curls from memory.

I have also only broken once with a hookset about 2 weeks ago and that was partially because i had a med/heavy rod with too light of flouro and fish was too close to the boat when i slapped a hookset.

+1
I'm about to give up on it myself and I also use plenty of KVD conditioner (which does help) I can't afford any breakoffs, and am tired of the backlashes. If you do use it, don't fill the reel full, that seems to help with the backlashes.

http://pages.videotron.com/fishing/estretch.htm

^It doesn't necessarily have less stretch than a good copolymer line. But it is less visible and has very good abraison resistance.
