We launched at Hamms Creek Wednesday and headed north a couple of miles. 50/50 mix of males and females. Total among 3 boats was @ 35 fish.
The eggs were still very grainy and not fully developed.
This cold front will probably push everything back another week.
If we can get @ 3 straight days of 70+ with lots of sun, it should blow wide open.

One of the boats in are party started at the islands and worked back down. They had more success than our other 2 boats.

How far is it to the island from Hamm's Creek ramp? I think I know what the area looks like, but it has been years sense I have been past painted rock. I do know we went to Flat Rock, but it has been too long for me to remember.
I fished the Nolan last week and it was slow (in the boat). The guys walking in above Rock Creek were doing much better than the guys in boats. More males than females, but most were keepers.
Thanks in advance...

About 2 to 3 miles up. Go past paint rock after you make the bend at B mountain its about another mile up. Gotta be careful as you approach the island... some hidden rocks to the right. Like i said ... have'nt been up there since feb. so I don't know how high the river is... should be in good shape though !! Thanks for the report on the Nolan!! Its still early !!
