I have been looking at Lock-R-Bar's and I wanted to know what everyone thinks about them. For those of you who have built simular devices how and what did you built them out of?
Thanks, Bunkfish

I had the Lock-R-Bar on my 181 Champion. We won it in a drawing at a tournament. I traded up for a 203 Champion and as soon as I can I'm ordering another one and installing it. So much piece of mind. If someone gets into that you weren't stopping them anyway. They are so easy to install. I've just been putting it off.

We have been installing them for over three years now and have not had one report of a boat getting broken into with it on. Not to say that it can't happen, but it makes the thieves work much harder and make noise to get to the stuff. That generally makes them bypass that boat and go to the next one that is an easier target.

If you just happen to carry a 50 pound gas powered chop saw with your thief gear then you'll have no problem getting into a Loc-R-Bar protected boat....

I have one and it's nice to be on the road and be able to walk into a restaurant and eat and not worry about the stuff in the boat.
Some of the TTT fishermen got a lot of stuff stolen on Toledo Bend. A couple of the boats had the Loc-R-Bars and they were broken into also. They just used a big crowbar and busted out fiberglass and all where the mounts were installed. So, Yes I love mine, but a thief can and will do anything he needs to do to steal something he wants to steal.

Yep... google search pulled up a gas powered chop saw as one of the preferred methods to break into a Loc-R-Bar system... Along with blow torch and tow chain hooked to a renecks dully.
I still think im safer than the guy that doesnt have one.
Loc-R-Bars are great but common sense is much better.... Take your rods out of the boat.
