Intersting..like to know some TFF'er thoughts on these quotes from Q&A with Kurita.

Bmaster Mag-"how does it feel to be the record holder of most sought-after record in all of sportfishing?

Kurita-"i feel happy but will be much more happy to break my record" .....huh? OK....

Bmaster Mag -"It took IGFA a very long time to recognize your fish- what was the hold up?"

Kurita-"I dont know but it did not bother me at all. However I thought I might catch another record size fish before I heard the results"..... is this guy kidding?

Bmaster Mag-"you are officially tied for the world record with george perry who caught a 22-4 on an artificial lure. In your opinion should there be different categories for live bait and artificial bait?"

Kurita-"it is the same for me but i will catch next record fish on artificial bait".....

I know its good to be a confident angler but.....really? WOW!

supposedly he's seen 30 pounders. He was surprised the record was so low....he might have good reason to be confident...

in my opinion it seems alot of good fisherman have a cockiness in there swagger. Im not saying its good or bad, but I will say" If we dont beleive in ourselves, then whos gunna beleive in us"? that guy has a can/will do attitude. I like it..

Looks like what we need less of in fishing is you, my fellow poster. Hate much??? Perhaps just another jealous poster. Whatever.

I don't think there is a single poster on this entire forum that wouldn't love to have a 10% chance of hooking and landing a thirty pound bass.

He has stated that he has lost bass much bigger than the world record he caught. Sounds to me that he has a lot of real life experience that leads to his confidence.

Hey, I'm all for his answers. I really want this record here in the United States, but, Bass Fishing is becoming so popular world wide that you just never can tell. Dude is very confident, and obviously he has the water that can produce the world record, as he already has.

Did anyone read the entire article and see what it cost those Japan guys to fish a day. It's a lot of money to even go fish for a record. If your mind was not right before leaving the house a zero day might just push you over the edge.

Don't be so hard on him. He is really young and naive.

He holds the record and obviously can walk the walk so until he gets knocked off that top spot he can brag a bit if he wants I guess.

Unless I am wrong he has the world record and you haters don't. Please remember that this is a translation as well and sometimes the intent and the quote don't quite mesh.
