I would try some ABEC7 spool bearings first. You probably won't see the need for the super tuning then. That has been my experience.

Super tuning id definitely worth it. Any place where there is metal to metal contact there is friction. Most reels mass produced do not give u a glass smooth finish. super tuning absolutely does this 1200 and 2000 wet/dry sandpaper along with semicrome polish is a nice touch!

Is super tuning my revos worth the money. It has been for me and once a year I send my reels to a guy in AL who checks everything out and retunes them. He does good work and is quite reasonable.

It works great
You might also look into Boca's orange seal hybird bearing. They are sweet smooth & very fast bearings.
Thank you, Shawn Smith

I'm using Boca lightnings in my reels now and they really are nice. They can be run dry.

Has anyone used the Xtreme Reel Plus oil? I have a new tube that I haven't tried out yet.

If you have any doubt, send em to http://www.thetacklesmith.com/ and he will fix em up like they should have been from the start. He does all my reels and they work right and longer than ever before.

I have been taking my own reel's apart ( I am no ace) and have cleaned and polish'd all the part's that they say to in the super tuning articles, and it really made em sweet, and easier to handle , so my answer would be yes it is worth the money to have them done.
