because they do have polygraph. If nothing has been proven from the latest events it is the polys are a joke. They only get the honest folks to begin with. I was there in 2007 and it was a weekend that was just like this weekends forecast. BC's allowed us to trailer and did a great job accommodating the winds. I heard the wind was up close to 60 that day but don't know for sure. What I do know for sure is that was the biggest water I have ever been on and we took our time and I was never concerned. Also remember Judd it was unlikely you were in a Ranger and that really helps with the confidence factor. haha

I was on Lake Meade in a tournament when the winds came up to 40 with gusts way over that; my Ranger filled with water with two BIG-ONES over the bow and the biggest problem is you cannot steer and are at the mercy of those big breakers coming in from all directions. The waves were so tall you could not see over them. My partner had never been in a bass boat and had never fished for bass, it was so bad I tied us both to the boat. the wind finally put us up on the bank and that experience did him in. When we got back to weight in, he said nothing just walked away... So I remember being 6 foot talk and bullet proof but you cannot steer if your boat is FULL of H2O. Be careful. Arent you glad you were in a Ranger!!!

45mph winds???? well might wanna tighten up your chin straps Im afraid more than chin straps will pucker in those winds, as for running in that kind of wind on lakes, I havent found the fish yet worth my boat or my life, common sense gentlemen, I know some of you are the "macho men" and will run in any weather, just remember, the fish are always there, we are not. Good luck to all who do go and brave it, I hope everyone comes back safe.

Never knew there were so many experts at operating a bass boat in 40+ mph winds on large lakes. 60ft houseboats are getting swamped, docks are being torn up by the waves but all these folks that can run the lake in 18 to 22 ft bass boats. Guess I can get a list of names to call to give me driving lessons.
NOT LIKELY.

Let's just cut through the chase--- Bottom Line--- This is going to be a very dangerous lake to be on this weekend with wind gusts up to 50 mph and sustained 25+. But as usual there are a few bad boys (wannabees) that think they're invincible and compare theirselves to the ELITE crew. But what they don't have is sponsors to replace everything they're going to tear up in 5 to 7 foot waves! For peanuts!! There's not a ramp on Amistad that provides protection from that!! Who's kidding who! This one's going to be bad! I've never missed a Champs tourn. but this one is keeping me home! Good luck guys!! It's just fishing!!!

Those weather forcasters sometimes speak with forked tongues!! Several times I have anticipated a "snow day" where I would be out of school. This was bolstered by the weather predictors spouting "SNOW!...SNOW!...SNOW!" I was all set to track rabbits, lay up in the bed with Wifey.....whatever....and NO SNOW! Ya just can't believe those politicians and weather people!
