Well there ain't much water left but what is is full of fish. MOst dock owners are high and dry, thank God for at least one working ramp. Fished this morning with first timers Roy and BArry from Longview, found Hybrids right after daylight up in the Key Ranch area, got 7 from that bunch then found them again a little later a little farther north, all on top on Sassy Sahds in day/glo and fire tiger/char, Roy even got one on his fly rod. Got our 10 fish limit from there all 4-6 pounds, caught a total of 19 Hybrids today, went looking for Sandies and once again DT-1 was loaded, this time shallower 10-12 ft. of course on the famed hell/pet. Limited there by 10:30, then back to dock for a 70 qt box of fish to clean.
Good day, pic to follow.
I have next SAt open if anyone wants to fish a low water level lake full of fish.

Billy, you seem to catch more fish when the boat is headed south in the parking lot.

Billy, we can count ourselves lucky to only be 5 feet low! Most lakes are much lower than that. The average depth at boat houses around the lake is 5 to 6 feet deep when the lake is full some are deeper but not many.
You seem to do well anyway. Keep on fishing! I hope to fish with you this fall.
Jerry

Dream TEam 1 is one of my best spots for Sandies this time of year, it is not on any lake map but is marked out on my navionics, some friends of mine fished it a lot last year so I named it after them, DT 2 I named after them also but they don't fish that one. wink
With all of my battery issues was surprised that we did as well as we did, either I am drifting for Hybrids or trolling behind the big motor, no in between, that will soon change with cooler weather.

Wanted to post my report here so all the credit would go to Billy. I went out with Billy last weekend and really must have learned what he was teaching. I took my wife out Sunday morning. We caught 1 schooling hybrid on Sassy Shads and then broke out the hellpets. In less than 3 hours, we boated our limit of hybrids and our limit of big sandies. I had never caught a fish on a hellpet before yesterday morning, even though I had tried it on several occasions. I used what Billy taught me and loaded the boat. And by the way, the trick wasn't location, it was depth (11-13 feet for the Sandies and 15-18 feet for the hybrids) and knowing what to look for on the depth finder. We caught all our fish near the Spillway hump. I've fished that thing 30 times in the past couple of months and never really got on the fish until yesterday. Billy, thanks for all the advice and instruction.

Possibly, I don't chase them that much, they just swim up beside the boat and surface. Kind of a neat deal, Billy taught me how to do that.
Why do you ask Two Dogs?

George just motors into the area of surfacing hybrids and they jump into his boat in single file.

Am glad to see you guys did well. Fishing will stay good until DEcember or even later, though the hell/pet season is drawing to a close, then it will be slab time. banana I may have one or two lying around in my boat and garage or is it 200-300?

Billy has fished with me, yep you read that right,he is great with the hell-pet, but he flat gets after it with a slab. If you want to learn a thing or three about slabs Billy is the man.
Just to clarify, when he fished with me there were no hell-pets in the boat.

Billy,

I know that you are still using Don's Port to launch. Do you think I can get my boat in there? How deep is the channel? I know to hug the docks coming out, but it has to be really low in some spots through there.

Also, Doesn't Big Chief have a pretty deep ramp. Anyone using it?
