You should be good to go. Reds are easy enough to find on the flats in Redfish Bay, water tmps around 68F. Thats way North of LLM.

Went out yesterday. My 5-y/o daughter likes to go out by the jetties and fish for Sand Trout, so that's what we did. Fishfinder showed the temp to be 63 degrees. Actually caught a couple of undersized reds at 50 feet.

well i am glad someone did well down there. the whole LLM flats is covered in a brown tide and couldnt buy a redfish bite... we caught a lot of trout off the dock at night under the lights but the flats were DEAD, DEAD, DEAD! in spots where it has always been clear no matter how bad the wind is blowing it was like fishing in Chocolate... i have never had my boat skunked down there and it happened twice last week... i drove all over and the only water were you could see the bottom was when it was 6 inches deep...

Yep. Seems like the Brown Tide is worse in the shallow water. That's one reason I let my kid talk me into going out to the deeper water. Plus, being unable to see the bottom makes me nervous. My daughter can't push a stuck boat for [censored].

Actually it's when I'm not messing with her that she gets upset. As long as I pick on her, she's happy--her mom's the same way.

TxG, quick note. Saturday heading out to the gulf the water around Port Mansfield looked pretty good. Didn't fish the LLM Sunday, wind was out of the N 20-30 MPH, and the water was sanded up very bad. Chose to activate plan "B" based on the wind.
