coming down to Galveston this weekend can anyone give me any help on where to fish in the bay either from the bank or from a kayak. will be staying south of Jamaica beach. Im a bass fisherman so any info on artificial baits would be best

I am headed down there also this weekend. I have seen alot of people using kayaks around the san luis pass county park. It isn't too far from where you will be. Just be careful not to go very far out, the current can get pretty strong. We catch alot of fish from our boat there.
You can also try fishing the bay side of galveston state park. I havent fished there, but I have heard good things about it from waders and kayakers.

on your way down get the book "wada and kayak fishing on the upper coast of Texas" from Fishing Tackle Unlimited on I45 and the beltway. This book will tell you everything you need to know. It has ALL the places to put in a kayak or places to walk in from the bank, and alot of maps. I dont personally fish from a kayak but if I did this book would be very helpful.
