Perception is a good yak, plus you will like the adjustable foot pegs over the molded ones.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Try Hearts of Kayak in Grapevine. They carry most brands. Also highly recommend NativeManta Ray 14. You might also look at the Native Ultimate.

Good luck on your purchase, and "Welcome to the addiction" in advance. Hope to see you on the water, just remember to be extremely vigilante when it comes to safety.

Welcome to the plastic navy !

Give Mariner Sails a call too. They mostly focus on fishing yaks now and have a really good selection now on some DEEP discounts. Like a X-factor for $649.

You can check some of the specials out on the web, but the pricing in the store is better across the board.

Good Luck, Phill

I paddle with an Aqua-Bound Stingray. They generally make good paddles of all different types and varying price range. The really expensive paddles are for weight and material, not as necessary for kayak fishing while you might have to endure a long duration paddle, a rapid stroke paddle won't be necessary. Just make sure you get a long enough paddle to cover your kayak width, but not any longer so you can track easier. For the long distance paddles, the lower weight paddles are beneficial and the reason to spend a little extra money. Good luck.
