Going to meet up w/ family from Fort Worth and San Antonio next Wed. to fish Lake Ivie. Staying at Elm Creek Village. Curious as what I should stock up on. We have fished Amistad, Ray Roberts and Choke. Which one would Ivie compare to best? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know the lake has put out some big ones and this may sound strange, but I would rather catch #s. This is a family outing and the more frequent the poles bend the longer the brother-in-law and I can convince our wives to stay out. Also my son just gets a kick out of watching fish getting caught, regardless of size. Thanks

The tourney on 03/06 was won by a guide from Amistad (might be a clue). There was also a post about someone tearing up the channel cats in three feet of water. Couple of options

There

This past weekend people were catching numbers up the Concho pitching to brush/trees, and the main lake was slow, however if you get bit on the main lake it could be big. We fished 2 1/2 days on the main lake had 6 bites, caught 4 fish, 3 dinks and a 9.5#. Go up the river pitch trees and throw cranks the white bass are pretty good to. Good Luck

This is Texas, wait a minute and the weather will change. Yesterday it was 80 now it's 36 and the wind blowing 20 mph. During the week should be good, it will be between fronts.
I am plannig on being out there next weekend and it will surely come a blow then, at least that's my luck.
Think Amistad.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

Give me a shout when you head down and I'll help you get started I have been here on Ivie the past couple days and will fish thru tomorrow. I'll let you know what our best patterns were. We have been fishing this front so things may change a little next week with some warm weather.
