I am trying to help my son find a very secluded lake for fishing and camping. He has a small boat with a trolling motor. Any suggestions ?

Men are like fish...If we'd learn to keep our mouth shut, we'd stay out of trouble.

Purtis Creek, Fairfield, and have heard Tyler is nice. Although with many kids on spring break, it could be a [censored] shoot. Purtis Creek this weekend was a mad house. Kids screaming/ yelling, dogs barking and jumping in the water. The fishing piers were packed and fisherman lined the banks. Haven't seen that many boats out there in about 20 yrs.

The state park down at Huntsville is great. Best I can remember the lake is called lake Raven. The bass fishing is good. Alot better than Tyler state park.

Lakes Coffee Mill and Davey Crockett on the Caddo National Grasslands north of Bonham. Great place to fish and camp although they don't have showers or flush toilets like a state park. Running water is available in the campground.
I recommend Coffee Mill for Crappie and Crockett for bass.

Fish AKA Wanda: Go south 125 miles to "Lake Fairfield" A wonderful place to see all sorts of animanils in the wild like, deer, coons, armadillos and all sorts of birds. Also with all that you get clean restrooms/showers concrete pads/fresh water and miles of walking paths, cleaning tables, some docks and good fishing from shore.

It's a little bit of a drive, but Martin Dies Jr is a very small state park and no one is ever there. Great fishing. It's my favorite place. Marin Dies Map
