Howdy all...

I have been busy with gadgets lately. My latest gadget comes from Navionics. If you have a iPhone or Touch, you can purchase a number of awesome maps from the iStore. Just look up Navionics from the iStore search.

Here are a few quick links to Navionics website:

Mobile Lake Home Page:
http://www.navionics.com/MobileLakeCharts.asp?ContinentID=5
Mobile Marine
http://www.navionics.com/MobileMarineFeatures.asp
Mobile Ski (Yea... even fishermen need a break...)
http://www.navionics.com/MobileSkiFeatures.asp

As far as I can tell, the map details are very close to their bigger brother which comes on the standard chips. It's a cool deal for only $9.95! I have to pry my son's Touch away from him when I want to plan a trip. Unless you have WiFi at the lake, the Touch won't have GPS. Maybe someday the Corps will install WiFi???

Here are some screenshots I took tonight to give you a taste:

It's a great tool for ten bucks!

Be careful, the mobile app lies a lot. I found some excellent humps on Limestone on mobile app that were not on my chip. They were not on the lake either. I wasted close to 3 hours looking for structure that was not there.
