It happened to me three times this weekend during a tournament. I said something to two of them. The other on picked up and left after he looked back at me. One of them was trying to passing by us and pulled up and started throwing (not pitching) into a tree top we where fishing. He was making all sorts of noise. I told him I didnt mind him fishing but dont fish on top of me with a few other explecite words mixed in. I was fishing in a creek maybe 10 yards wide and 150 yards long. He still tried to get past us to fish in front of us. Some people just dont get it or dont care. The other time I was fishing in a big cove and was the only boat in it. I saw him come around the corner and turn straight to us. He came within 15 yards of my boat (that was in the back of the cove) never slowing down. Needless to say he now has one of my crankbaits( alittle bloody but still useable).

Like they have said ,you can't fix stupid. You need to let it roll off like water on a ducks back. You will have a lot better time. It will happen several times in the coming weeks . Every knot head that owns a boat will be out.

No quiet time for me. It has happened a few times to me but not many. I don't throw lead or wash the boat but I have had it out every time and some are clueless and some are aholes and those can meet me at the ramp to settle up. I figure if I don't say anything then the clueless ones will never learn and the jerks will just keep jerking. I have always yielded water to anyone with a kid in the boat or if they are polite.

Last tournament I fished. A guy comes literally 5 to 10 ft from the boat throws anchor down and starts fishing with shiners!

Thats the one good thing about fishing in the winter. The fishing is not always the best but it keeps most of the crazy part timers and ski fleas out of your hair. Love spring fishing, just all the people that get on the water with no sense the burn me.

Just yell at them and tell them you are fishing and to stay back. Personally,I would not Pitch toward their boat. Just tell them, directly, what you think and leave it at that.

OTOH, I've seen ramps blocked by tournament boats so that the other paying public couldn't launch until after tournament start time. On other occasions, I've had tournament boats run right up to me and annouce that THEY are in a tournament as if I should leave.
Consideration and common sense works both ways.

I tell ya guys, life is what it is, take it with a grain of salt and move on. I have been fishing for a long time, these things happen. Anyone who's fished long enough has experienced it. Its a pain and its aggrivating. You got the right to be ticked off, but dont ever take anyone for granted. I'll tell you there are plenty of crazy people in this world, that will do things that you would never dream of. I love to fish, and I'm competitive, but some things are just more important. Like going home after I'm done fishing.

Pantera, You should have come down to my dock and I'd have given you a cold beer to cool you down.

Seriously, rude people need a wake up call and don't let them run over you. This WILL get their attention followed with an explanation.

Funny thing, had this happen last year in a tournament at amistad by a well known guide and tackle shop owner. Don't buy anything there anymore. Just the way the world is now.

Thanks for the laugh Pantera! I too have had the same thing happen and I don't believe anybody can answer your question. Common sense seems to be a thing of the past and manners? Forget about it! I did get one of those guys back one time down at Fork. Just as I was entering a little cutback I had been saving all day so we could fish it at dusk here comes this dude and runs past me and anchors in the mouth of it. Well I laughed and just as I started to go on I had a good four pounder hit my homemade buzzbait and then the show started. I even caught a big old grinnel and all four of the people in that boat were having a fit. Man you would have thought KVD was in my boat. That was a good day for me.
