I don't know , maybe it's the angle of the dangle or the intensity on the downscan wasn't set intense enough or whatever...To be honest I am not totally impressed with the downscan on my 997C...At times it looks great and other times it doesn't show much or as much as the 2D...Not sure of the cause, I have read that it may be learning curve, operator error or a new transducer is needed...More time will tell...
I would love to see a Lowrance downscan in person to compare...Side ways they are both great, I would like to compare the down...

I down loaded the update to my pc then on to a sd card, plugged it in and nothing happens, It shows 2.767KB or 2.70 MB on my pcand my sd card, but it will not upload when I plug it in my unit. Any suggestions?

Did you restore to factory settings before you inserted the sd card?

Look on the SD card and be sure the update is loaded on it.

well, I put it in the computer and when I click on the SD Card it shows M997.4_750.Bin...todays date....Bin File....2,767KB
what do you think????

Turn the unit off. Then you put the card in. When you power the unit on if nothing happens, call Humminbird after 8am today. 1-800-633-1468

Just got our New 998c SI Combo in and plan on ordening a 1197c SI Combo next week.
First time for HUMMINBIRD.
The 998c is going on our Crappie Barge for the Challenged Outdoorsman and the 1197c will go our new Triton Crappie Boat.

how do you get the down imaging to work
i have installed the update and my unit shows the update listed but i havent seen anything showing down imaging

Hit view until you see a black screen and it will work. You will need to be in the water.
