It looks like it could be a boring couple of weeks here in east texas, so i brought along an ultralight in case. are there any good bank fishing spots in the Henderson, Hallsville, Longview, Marshall area? Maybe a white bass run somewhere????

chandler tx. neches river near tyler. sandbass and hybrids galore. heres a 23 inch hybrid , caught many more in 20 inch range. and lots of huge sandies. getcha some

careful at the neches though, my friends uncle and his fishin buddy got robbed at gunpoint when they were launching there the other morning. Right as they were putting the boat in the water 2 guys pulled up to the ramp, jumped out with guns and robbed em then went back down the river.

The robbers were in a boat?

yeah he said they pulled up in an older bass boat got out and as they were walking over pulled guns on em and afterwards just got back in their boat and sped down stream. I'm new to east texas and have never had problems any where. Just wanted to give people a heads up that there are some a**holes out there

Where did the robbery take place? Close to lake Palestine? or further down the river.

was this at the launch site east of chandler under the 31 bridge?

I think it was a little further down the river than right at palestine but I'll check with him to find out.

If you're willing to drive down to Nacogdoches/Lufkin you can get into the whitebass pretty good on the angelina.
