Time: 9:30 – 2 PM

Weather: Started cloudy but the sun broke around noon

Wind: Out of the South, strong at first but calmed down.

Temp: High 90’s

Started out near Twin poles. My plan was to troll all day. I managed to pick up 5 nice sand bass and 2 small sand bass. I spent the rest of the day moving south towards the dam. I found a small group of boats near the trees in the middle of the lake. The fish were coming up, but it did not seem like they wanted to stay on top for long. I picked up 2 on a TNT slab. My last stop was about 500 yards off of Lake Park beach. The fish came up and stayed up. I trolled the outside edges of the schools and picked up another 22 sand bass and 1 hybrid that was 13”. When I left the fish were still on top and must have covered an area 3 acers in size.

Trolling produced bigger fish today.

Let's see now. They're still biting. They're still surfacing. Acres and acres of fish. And they are staying up on the surface for HOURS on end!

And I'm stuck here at work.

I now realize that I am truly being punished for all my wrongdoings earlier in life.

When all else fails, make another cast.

I might have seen you early GPS, I started about 9:00 at twin poles (red and silver Champion)and left to check out the dam and good call, I took my sister who is here visiting from Buffalo, N.Y. of all places and her arm is still sore as we speak. There were acres of fish at the dam and she landed two hybrid over 18" and tons of magnum sandies from 9 to 1:00. Good stuff

Hooked up, when you say "dam", do you mean the new dam or old lake dallas dam? I'll be on the lake about noon tomorrow.

Good to meet you today, Greg! I really think you could have done better slabbing, use the Hell-pet when the bite is off, locate the fish w/ the Hell-pet, then slab their asses off!unfortunately,
it seems we cant have back to back killer days
very humbling. Boston Bob & I went out today
w/ Alex Gonzalez to show him what all the hub-bub was about & ended up w/ 54 caught,18 kept.
Alex caught a nice 3# hybrid which really made the trip. I think he's hooked! cheers

I was out there today as well. Good to see yall Boston Bob, Lite-liner, Alex, GPSFishin', and Hooked up.
Me and my buddy had a great time. We also caught quite a few sandies. Only one hybrid, 21.5". They were everywhere from Lake Park to almost the entire length of the dam. Just follow the birds and the boil. My buddy caught the most fish on a clear tiny torpedo. I caught the Hybrid on a Humdinger.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and it was great not having to do battle with other boaters.

Lite-line, I had planned to troll yesterday no matter what. I wanted to just do it. Trust me, I had my eye on you and Boston Bob and the fish you were slabbing. If I can make it out this weekend I might take only my slabs. With all of the fish schooling it would have been impossible for me not to go topwater if I had my topwater gear with me. At one time it sounded like party popper or rain hitting the water.

Call when you are going out again.

Grove Rat,

The "dam" that had the most action yesterday was the main dam. I went up to the old cut first and did not see anything on top.

Also the topwater started late, around noon.
