Ok, I'm going to Squaw Creek this evening for a few hours if it is open. I have a badge and have been fishing it this past winter from the bank. I left it out of the title cuz I understand it would immediately get off topic. I will get all the info I can on when it is opening and post tomorrow.
To my question, Squaw Creek is a power plant lake and the water will be warmer than other bodies of water today. I have only caught fish on soft plastics in the watermelon and pumpkin seed colors throughout the winter. I have seen people catch on spinnerbaits but I haven't gotten 1 bite on one. I am wondering if fish have already spawned on these power plant lakes and what should I focus on. I am limited as I can't launch there yet. Thoughts?

Weightless senko or a weighless superfluke would be something to try.

I would try a big 10" worm. You wont get as many bites, but the quality of fish will probably be better. Try any of them in the darker colors.

Thats what I caught the 6 pounder on. A black 10" powerworm. Unfortunately I think I am out and don't have time between work and the park closing to go get more. I have to make a beeline from the rig to the park. Atleast its only 15 minutes or less away.
