Boys and i went to the creek to have a little fun in the sun and we ended up with an really nice catch. 35 big sows in all. Sitting within site of the boat ramp SOMEBODY hit my Z71 with their trailer. I just want to say thanks to the SOB that hit my truck and kept going. Bet he makes somebody really proud! Sucks to come back to your truck and find that it's hit and the person that did it did not leave any information as to WHOM they were and they were SORRY, and i mean SORRY !!!!

Bedias Creek! Fished there all through the 70s When I was a growing teenager! We have hauled many a stringer of WhiteBass and WhitePerch out of there.Simply wore out a few Zebcos tossing nothing but speck rigs. If you know of it...Is Wilson shoals still around?

Sorry to hear about your accident. The whites are there and eatting minnows as fast as you can put them in the water. - - Ranger rick , Wilson Shoals is under about 50 feet of water. I remember when I was a kid we would fish the shoals and catch all kinds of fish. Now most of the younger people call the shoals on Bedias Creek Wilson Shoals but Wilson Shoals is under water on the Trinity river a few hundred yards above where Bedias Creek comes into the Trinity river. It was one heck of a place to fish before Lake Livingston filled up.

GPS 30.904250, -95.672593- shoals are under water right now about 6 miles up the bedias creek (from the mouth of the Trinity River) but they are still there. I fished them back in the early 70's w my dad and now i fish them with my boys. If you get on GoogleMaps.com and find midway,tx, head south on fm 247 until you get to the Bedias creek/little thicket estates. When you find where 247 crosses the creek turn the google maps onto satalite and go down the creek back towards the trinity and you will see the shoals. Normal conditions you will see the rocks and you will be in about 2' of water. Whites will be stacked in there thicker than ticks on a dog's back. Hope this helps. PS. you can get there from 247 but from boat only. Land owners have the land where you used to walk back in there.

Bedias Creek shoals are just south of hwy 247 but the WILSON SHOALS are under water just north of where Bedias Creek comes into the Trinity river. If you drive down Wilson Shoals road look for some metal stairs going into the river. That should be where Wilson Shoals was before Lake Livingston was built. I fished down on the shoals when I was a kid and caught a lot of fish. Hence the name Wilson Shoals road.

Pretty cool meeting folks that fished the same place I did as a"kid'. Any of you know of the little Eddy and the Big Eddy...Trinity river north of midway about 7 miles up river? I forget the road that crosses there...maybe it was 21? Used to hunt deer back behind the old WWII POW Camp off of Hwy 19 headed towards Riverside. Memories!

Ranger rick, I remember the Big Eddy, but that was a long time ago. Did you fish Wilson Shoals before Lake Livingston was built ?

Matt, Well I was about 14-15 and my buddy was 23-24 and he knew all those places. He told me 'common boy the whitebass are running up at the shoals...Wilson shoals". Went to that location several times. Never had alight stringer. I recall one two-track/gravel(?) type road that lead to a small park/pay area with a rough type boat launch(not a ramp really) that had shacks and old ancient sharecrop tenant buildings on both sides. Folks would come out and stare at you on both sides, got a deliverance type thing going there. Never did stop. Rumor was Sheriff White never wanted to go down there much...but then that's the stories and over 30 years back. Oh on the way back during season we used to hammer Squirrels from the boat as the hung out on limbs over the river. Was a lot of fun..but hey we all grow older and move on to other things and new experiences.

My grand father lived in one of those shacks back in the early 60,s. He moved in 1964 to Midway. My mother was always ashamed of him living there but I liked to go see him and could catch all the fish I wanted.
