IM STARTING TO GET INTO BASS FISHING AND HAVE A FEW BAITCASTING REELS. WENT TO BASS PRO AND PICKED UP A COUPLE OF 7 FOOT MEDIUM BASS PRO BRAND RODS FOR 34.00 EACH. THEY SEEM PRETTY STIFF. ANYBODY OUT THERE HAVE A SUGGESTION ON A NICE BUT GOOD PRICED ROD. DO I NEED TO GO LIGHTER TO FEEL THE BITE?

You will get a diffrent answer from every angler you ask. Its all oppinion. I prefer Kistler, but all-star, Falcon, and lots of others make great rods.

Falcon Originals and Bocoos are good rods and are decently priced.

try the carbonlite rods from bass pro, they seem pretty sensitive and light as well for the price.

Your going to get WAY too many opinions about this question.
Best thing to do is try out a few different rods and decide what rods meet your needs for their applications.

Good starting rod is the All Star Classics at Academy for 50 bucks. They are what I started with and still use a couple. During the rod riot they are like 35 dollars or something.

look at the TFO rods. For around $100.00 they are an excellent rod. Loomis put a lot of input into the building of this rod.

Either Bass Pro or Academy both have good store brand rods.If looking for a name brand Falcons new HD series is $69 at academy they have a exposed blank through the handle and all fuji components.A very good rod for the money.

personally i use mostly all g loomis these days but as a beginner i would suggest berkley lightning rods. they are really good rods and very inexpensive, there not a rod thats going to last you a long long time but they will surely get you started and without a big investment.
